KMA are proud to announce that we are holding one of our most ambitious events ever – a wonderful immersive film about the Forest of Knaresborough, a former royal hunting forest. We have been working with Fuzzy Duck film production company; they interviewed local people to help us to tell the story of the forest from prehistoric times to its heyday in the Middle Ages. The film captures the beauty of Nidd Gorge and Waterside and explains the huge impact that the Enclosure Act had on local communities living in the forest, and how part of the forest is now back in public ownership at Knaresborough Forest Park and Long Lands.

Expect special effects where paintings and children’s drawings come to life, stunning photography and drone footage. This one-off event is FREE and will appeal to all ages. The film is shown hourly throughout the day, and the event includes art installations, stalls, and a raffle. Refreshments are also available.

Booking is essential as seats are limited for each hourly show, but last minute attendance on the day may be available if showings are not fully booked.

This event accompanies the current exhibition at Knaresborough Heritage Centre which has received rave reviews by many of our visitors. The Centre is open 10am until 4pm on Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
