An outsider might think that a small market town like Knaresborough would have only played a small role in the war. They would be wrong. Knaresborough Museum Association (KMA) volunteers have been collecting stories about local people for over 5 years, and in some cases interviewing them in person, to learn and record how WW2 impacted them and their families. Kathy looks at twenty of those people and shares their very diverse stories. Some were children in the war, some served on the front line, others served by living and working in the local area.By sharing these touching, and sometimes incredible, stories, KMA pays tribute to the fortitude, spirit, resilience and heroism of the people of Knaresborough who all made an invaluable contribution to the war effort.
